“Here at Hugo’s we all work as a team to deliver a first rate service to our customers ( the dogs )… over the last year Hugo’s have undergone a complete change in management implementing new methods and procedures in doggie daycare and overnight hotel stays, this job opportunity is a chance to expand our team and to recruit another dedicated dog lover in to our business.” – Heather Owner of Hugo’s
Although no experience is necessary as full training is provided the right person should have some ” DOG ” background either in owning dogs, working with dogs, walking with dogs, just having that instinct to read a dog’s behaviour through being around dogs in a personal or professional manner.
The right candidate should be willing to learn canine first aid / behaviour skills / dog training skills as at Hugo’s we are continuously increasing our staff skills and practice methods.
We keep our dog hotel rooms and play areas very clean and fresh so the right candidate will need to be physically fit and active as cleaning up after dogs is a physical role
Front of house and reception duties, this can get busy at picking up and dropping off times so the right candidate will not only need to be professional and polite to our visitors when representing our brand but also be able to take payments, phone calls, and multitask… handling money, and customer details is also a key part of the job and new employee will need to pass some pre-employment checks.
Play area supervision – our indoor and outside play areas are staffed and supervised at all times – a mentally demanding role where having eyes in the back and front of your head and being switched on at all times to read animal behaviour are skills you must be able to learn,
Animal pack training is a skill you will soon learn as this job candidate will be a very calm and relaxed person, having this temperament will keep the play areas calm.
We find that the dog’s in pack environment respond very well when supervised by adults who are calm, caring and dog lovers who are over the age of 30 that have been around dogs / grown up with dogs…
Overnight stay – having flexible shifts means there are some nights, some days and that means you get a mix of free days as well,if this sounds like the job for you then please read below for details on how to apply…
